Radio Operator CT7BOR – Mickael’s Journey in Amateur Radio
Hello and welcome! I’m Mickael, known on the airwaves as CT7BOR in Portugal Viana do Castelo . and I’ve been passionate about radio communication since 1993. My journey began at a very young age. When I discovered the magic of radio through a simple setup in my father’s car. That first spark quickly grew into a lifelong hobby.
After many years of enjoying CB and DX on 11 meters, I decided to take my commitment to the next level. In October 2022, I passed the official exam and earned my radio operator certificate, opening the door to the full world of amateur radio.
Today, I am an active member of ARAM – Associação de Radioamadores do Alto Minho, a well-respected radio club based in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. This club plays a key role in promoting radio culture and education in the north of Portugal. Learn more about them on their official website.
As CT7BOR in Portugal , I operate mainly on HF bands, often experimenting with different antennas and station setups. I particularly enjoy building and testing homemade antennas, including verticals, end-fed wires, loops, and multiband systems. Radio for me is not just about talking — it’s about learning, experimenting, and connecting.
On this site, you’ll find information about my radio shack, my 11m logbook, and several activations I’ve taken part in across Europe. Feel free to browse through the photo galleries and contact logs.
